For your phone to be able to read QR Codes, it is recommended to install a QR Code reading software installed on it.  Another option is to simply photograph a QR code and message it to 43588 to get an instant automated reply with the message decoded.

Most newer phones already come with some type of code scanner built-in.  We have found that simply searching for ScanLife from your app store/market/world will provide you with a quick and free download of a great reader.  Here are a few others:
